T1 Extender
2115/EUI-2PK CopperLink-T 2 pack

Patton_2115_App
Patton_2115_Detail

The Patton 2115 T1 Extenders are the perfect choice for enterprises, integrators, and service providers needing to extend T1 and E1 circuits beyond their typical reach while conserving the number of wire pairs used.

With the CopperLink–T extenders, zero configuration is required. They operate in clear-channel mode, thereby facilitating the transparent extension of data and voice bearing circuits including the F-bit on T1 circuits. The two active pins on the RJ connector are polarity insensitive, so you don’t even need to worry about which wire you connect on the line interface. Simply take them out of the box, put them on either side of the dry copper pair, connect your T1 or E1 device and the circuit will light up immediately!

For these reason, the CopperLink–T extenders are the ideal solution for most popular applications such as T1/E1 backhaul from a remote site, T1/E1 relocation, T1/E1 extension across a campus or between buildings, and last-mile TDM delivery.

The CopperLink–T simplifies transparent T1 extension.
Plug-and-Play–units automatically link up when placed on opposite sides of a dry copper wire pair.
Units operate in clear channel mode to easily transport voice and data (F-bit included).
Uses only wires on the link.
Link interface is polarity insensitive to make connection to the twisted-pair wires easy.
Intuitive LEDs help you quickly troubleshoot line and circuit problems.

E1 E-Extender

  • E-1 4-wire repeater
  • Extends in-house E-1 lines
  • Up to 4000 feet between units
  • RJ-45 or screw down connectors
  • Simple connection to a 4-wire line
  • Inexpensive solution to long cable runs
  • 120/240 VAC, 12/24/48, or 125 VDC powered
  • 1U high rack mountable; 1,2, or 3 x19″ rack
  • 20 slot chassis option

The DCE Copper-E is a 4-wire repeater for use on customer-owned lines or to extend telephone company demarcs. The E-Extenders are normally used in pairs to extend in-house E-1 lines in campus and highrise environments.

Each pair of E-1 Extenders may be located up to 4000 feet apart. The Extender circuitry is rated to -43 dB dynamic range at the E-1 rate of 2.048 Mbps. As implemented, the parts are slightly de-rated to provide long life at extended temperature range. Therefore the distances specified in this document are only 4000 feet. Solid copper 22 or 24 AWG, two twisted pair is the preferred cable for connection between the Extenders. Connection to the Extender is made through RJ-45 modular connectors or 4-wire screw down barrier strips. Each Extender comes standard with two screw-down barrier strips and one RJ-45 connector. If only RJ-45 connections are desired, extra RJ-45 adapters (part number 9502122) may be ordered.

The 120/240 VAC E-Extenders are powered by a small wall-mount transformer. The Extenders are designed for connections between E-1 equipment such as PBXs, E-1 multiplexers, E-1 line drivers, CSUs, routers or any other E-1 equipment requiring long customer owned cable runs. E-Extenders may be used to connect this equipment across a campus, between floors of a high-rise office building or between office buildings with underground cable runs. The E-Extenders are transparent to the type of data sent over the E-1 link. The data can be D-4 format, ESF, PRI, G.703, G.704, etc.

The Extenders are most often used in pairs to extend a telephone company demarc. For example, if a CSU or DSU is limited to 655 feet and is connecting to a phone company smart jack demarc which is limited to 655 feet, the E-Extenders are used in pairs to extend that distance up to 5000 feet.

To install, simply connect the transmit pair of one Extender to the receive pair of the other Extender. Pairs are not polarity sensitive.   Units are supplied with 2 screw down connectors and 1 RJ-45 connector.

A cable cross-over is required between two Extenders if using straight RJ-45 cables. This cable connects the receive pair to one Extender to the transmit pair of the other Extender.

Patton CL1214

Patton CL1214 CL1214/EUI-2PK
Ethernet Extenders

cl1214

The CL1214 extenders are used primarily in high bandwidth, short distance applications. Combining data flows from up to four network-enabled devices onto a single twisted pair or coax cable, the CL1214 can deliver IP traffic up to 4,250 ft (1295 m) away, well beyond the standard 328-foot (100-meter) Ethernet distance limitation.

Patton_CL1214_App

Ideal for bandwidth-intensive applications the CL1214 delivers remarkable symmetrical line rates greater than 100 Mbps. Best of all, like all CopperLink products, the CL1214 leverages existing copper infrastructure to deliver high speed Ethernet connectivity over voice-grade twisted pair, Cat 5e/6/7, and new to the CopperLink line, coaxial cabling.

Realize fiber-like speed and distance without the expense of fiber with Patton’s Ultra-High-Speed CopperLink Ethernet Extenders.

Patton_CL1214_Distance
Patton_CL1214_Distance2

A built-in 4-port Ethernet switch makes the CopperLink Model 1214 ideal for delivering multiple IP information streams over a single cable. For example, at a guardhouse or security kiosk, you could aggregate IP data from a laptop, a motion sensor, and two high resolution IP video cameras for simultaneous transmission over a single Ethernet connection.

Combining data flows from up to four network-enabled devices onto a single twisted pair or coax cable, the CL1214 can deliver IP traffic up to 4,250 ft (1295 m) away, well beyond the standard 328-foot (100-meter) Ethernet distance limitation.

With achievable line rates up to 100 Mbps, the CopperLink 1214 eliminates the bandwidth constraints commonly experienced with other copper-based transmission technologies. The Model 1214 is engineered to re-use existing infrastructure previously employed in legacy applications including alarm circuits, E1/T1 circuits, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CCTV and CATV. Many newer cabling standards are also supported, including Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 7.

Four user-selectable configuration profiles combined with Patton’s auto-rate adaptation feature ensure maximum achievable symmetrical or asymmetrical rates for the installed noise environment, wire gauge/type and length.

Symmetrical line-rate settings are ideal for such applications as remote LAN extension, video teleconferencing, and data backhaul. Asymmetrical configurations are well-suited for applications requiring higher downstream speeds and/or longer distances between Ethernet devices. Typical symmetrical scenarios include medical imaging, livestock monitoring, underwater video, internet gaming, and transporting high-resolution IP video from security cameras.

Data Connect Copper-T
T1 Extender

DCB_CopperT

The Data Connect Copper-T is a T1 demarc extension device or T1 repeater. This simple unit allows T1 DSUs, channel banks, routers, and PBXs to be located up to 5000 feet from the telephone company’s demarc. With T1 lines becoming more common in the business and school environment, this is a lifesaver in campus and high-rise environments. The Data Connect Copper-T is powered by a small wall-mount transformer or optional DC power supply, and is used for connections between T-1 equipment such as PBXs, telco demarcs, T-1 multiplexers, T-1 line drivers, T-1 local multiplexers or any other T-1 equipment requiring long customer owned cable runs. Data Connect Copper-Ts can be used to connect this equipment across a campus, between floors of a high-rise office building or between office buildings with underground cable connections.

T-Extender_back
T-extender_rj45adapter

Note: This product is NOT intended for 10BaseT or Ethernet. T1 modulation is designed for use with twisted pair solid wire phone cables. The Data Connect Copper-T does NOT extend ethernet connections… only T1 connections. For Ethernet Extenders go here.

Each pair of Data Connect Copper-Ts may be located up to 5000 feet apart.  Solid copper 22 AWG two twisted pair is the preferred cable for connection between Data Connect Copper-Ts. Smaller wire sizes will reduce the functional distance between Data Connect Copper-Ts. Connection to the Data Connect Copper-T is made through RJ-45 modular connectors or 4-wire screw down barrier strips. Both types of connectors are standard on the Data Connect Copper-T.

The Data Connect Copper-T is powered by a small wall-mount transformer, and is used for connections between T-1 equipment such as PBXs, T-1 multiplexers, T-1 line drivers, T-1 local multiplexers or any other T-1 equipment requiring long customer owned cable runs.

Data Connect Copper-Ts can also be used to extend the distance between any T-1 equipment (DSU, channel bank, router, etc.).

The Data Connect Copper-Ts are best used in pairs. If you have a T1 CSU that is limited to 655 feet, connected to a device limited to 655 feet, and you put the Data Connect Copper-T at one end, the Data Connect Copper-T will drive the extra distance. However, the far end device will still be limited to 655 feet and will not likely have sufficient “drive” to reach the far end. The T1 transmitted signal is the issue addressed by the Data Connect Copper-T, so in this case, the line would be error-prone or possibly only work in one direction.

NOTE : Cable should be Category 3, 2 twisted pair, shielded.
DO NOT use Category 5 cable.  Proper operation cannot be guaranteed if Category 5 cable is used.

Using CAT5 or CAT6, the transmit and receive pairs are not shielded from each other, making Near End Cross Talk likely. If you can use 2 separate cables of CAT5 or CAT6, putting the TX pair in one and the RX pair in another, that would help greatly. The key, is proper sheilding of the pairs.

Patton CL1212

Patton_CL1212

The Patton CopperLink CL1212 is a 2-Ethernet-port Ethernet Extender which utilizes Patton’s legacy small form factor, and their legacy 5VDC input voltage.  These are Patton’s answer to customer’s who didn’t like Patton’s larger standard, CL1214 devices which run on 12VDC and have become our best selling Ethernet Extenders.

Combining data flows from up to 2 network-enabled devices onto a single twisted pair or coax cable, the CopperLink Model CL1212 can deliver IP traffic up to 1.8 miles (3 km) away—well beyond the standard 328-foot (100-meter) Ethernet distance limitation.

CL1212_APP

With achievable line rates up to 168 Mbps, the CL1212 eliminates the bandwidth constraints commonly experienced with other copper-based transmission technologies. The Model 1212 is engineered to re-use existing infrastructure previously employed in such legacy applications as alarm circuits, E1/T1 circuits, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CCTV and CATV. Many newer cabling standards are also supported, including Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 7.

A built-in two-port Ethernet switch makes the CopperLink CL1212 ideal for delivering multiple IP information streams over a single cable. At a guardhouse or security kiosk for example, you could aggregate IP data from a laptop and a high-resolution IP video camera for simultaneous transmission over a single Ethernet connection.

A single-port version, the CopperLink Model CL1211 (available by special order) is ideal for applications requiring the enhanced security of a single Ethernet port.
