Patton CL1314 Long Range Ethernet Extender

Sporting a classy form factor reminiscent of the Patton 2174  the Patton engineers have just released the new Copperlink CL1314.  It differs from the 2174′s in that is designed to work at long range distances from, say, 1 mile to 3 miles.

These units are plug and play and feature the built in 4-Port Ethernet switch.  They are Patton’s designated replacement for the Patton 2157 units, which are nearing end of life.

Data Connect FiberT T1 Extender

Patton 2161/EUI-2PK

Lets say you need to extend Ethernet over copper some distance greater than a mile .  Maybe you have used the Patton 2157 (2157/UI-2PK) in this application before, since they will work at distances up to 6 miles.   But the maximum 4.6 Mbps bandwidth is just not enough.   “Don’t you have anything faster?”  Can you get more bandwidth if you use more pairs?  Now we can say, “Yes”.

Enter the Patton 2161 units, which use 4 wires and sport speeds up to 22.8 Mbps.  Thats like… 5 times the speed of the older 2157′s.   Doubling the numbers of wires (from 2 to 4) increased the speed nearly 5 fold.

Patton 2160/EUI-2PK

The Patton Electronics 2160/EUI-2PK is the logical upgrade path for customers who have used the Patton 2157 Long Range Ethernet Extender kits.  Both models use G.shDSL.  The newer 2160 units feature a higher maximum data rate and multiple Ethernet Ports.

Of course the Patton 2157 units still have their loyal following…with their smaller footprint and field proven reliability.  We recommend and stock both products.  The 2160′s are actually a little less expensive than the 2157′s.

We offer a number of Long Range Ethernet Extenders for distances greater than 1 mile, including the Patton 2161 4 wire and the Patton 2162 8 wire units.
